I clearly remember as a small child, figuring out about sewing on my mom's sewing machine. My mom taught me the basics of, how to thread the machine, how to guide the material, and a few other little odds and ends. As my mother would say even now, she is not very handy. So, most of my 'creations' were made by trial and error. At the school I attended there was no home economics offered so really all I learned was on my own.

Today memories were made. I brought out my sewing machine and Sam and I (with the boys hovering ever so closely)sat down and learned the basics of sewing.

As you can see in the pictures above, Sam made something for each of them. For Lucas she made a "Star Wars belt", for Jacob a sleeping bag for his Barbie, and for herself she made a change purse.

What a lovely rainy day it has been!!!

good for you! I love to sew...however I was never able to convince Kristen (or Martin for that matter!) that it is a good thing to learn. The do however love the stuff I make them!
