Up lifted... and clean!

So my sinus' are full, my nose is red, my nose is dripping, and I really don't feel near 100%...

I saw a friend today and I was telling her how I felt a bit like a rag-a-muffin. I explained how my husband had told me this morning on the way to work that the pants I was wearing were on their last days and that the two shirts I had layered looked rather 'casual'... "Are you allowed to dress like that at work?" was actually the phrase he had ended with. I had explained that I was in a clients house for the next 5 1/2 hours and would be teaching her to clean and we might go out for a walk on this rainy day. That is why I was not dressed up.

My friend chuckled and then made the sun shine. "You look fine, in fact the way you dress is the way I think Jesus would want us to dress." she responded. "You have made me rethink how I dress. You are always clean, tidy and your not outdated."

I actually had two thoughts before I realized that the sun was shining on me. First I thought, "Well, I'm glad people recognize I'm clean... but maybe this is a hint that I am not all that stylish or cool."... then I thought, "Good for me being clean, tidy and I really don't have to have the latest."

I often feel like I don't look as good as my friends or family... but gosh darn it, I'm clean! It really did make me happy that maybe life isn't all about the latest, or having new clothes, or looking like everyone else...

Lately there has been a lot of discussion and thinking of simpler living... maybe it is simpler than it seems, maybe it is simpler than... well I think you get the point.

That is all I have to babble about today.

An amen to that. You don't have to have the latest and greatest to BE somebody...or to be loved.
Living simply is freeing. To take the expectations off your shoulders of what everyone thinks of you and just live - that is great.

*Plus I have never thought you were out of date or looking shabby and you have always smelled grrreat :)

You are clean, but I think quite often you look snazzy.
