Socks

Saturday, January 27, 2007

In the winter I wash at least 35 pairs of socks a week... that makes 70 single socks. On school days the kids often come home with wet feet and change into dry socks... that is an extra 15 pairs or 30 singles. On the weekend the kids often take their socks off after going outside, then put new ones on, step in something in the kitchen or in the wet by the front door and change again... add another 12 pairs or 24 singles.

  • On average that is up to 62 pairs or 124 single socks I wash in a week.
  • Socks wear out too quickly.
  • Pairs never stay pairs.
  • They hide in the weirdest places in ones house.
  • The dryer really does eat them.
  • They cost a lot and if you buy cheep socks they always feel weird on the tips of your toes.
  • When little feet are going through a growth spurt, socks don't stretch enough.

In conclusion... I HATE SOCKS!

Socks are my most hated part of doing the laundry. I hate folding a basket filled with socks that you have to root through to find pairs. I agree that the dryer eats them, you put pairs in and only singles come out. And, they ARE darn expensive.

I love socks. I think it's largely cause Rich does the laundry but I do love socks.
