So my mom came for a visit...

Monday, November 21, 2005

I have told some people these stories and for those of you who are hearing this for the first time... she really means well... I think. Alison, you can take your head out of the sand!

My mom came with me to Lucas' soccer lesson on Saturday. When we sat down on the bench with all the other parents (the kids were listening to the couch in the middle of the gym. The couch is black, amazing with the kids and has been doing this for years), my mom says in a very audible voice... "Isn't it great to see non-whites in leadership positions." I shush her and she responds, "Well he couldn't hear me." I then in an exasperated voice respond, "yeah well all the people next to us can!"

THEN...

We go to the Santa Clause parade and in front of us there are about five physically and mentally challenged adults in wheelchair's. With them are two workers. It is a lovely group. My mom moves over to one of the workers and says... "It's great that you brought your people here."

Note: There were no holes in the ground for me to fall into and when I prayed to be taken right then and there... well I'm still here!

Oh dear, oh my! My mom has gone home! My sister better stop laughing at me!

Different generation. I am laughing so hard. Steve's grandparents are like that. They are cute though.
