So I was writing the post bellow this morning when Lucas came charging in shielding his eyes from the light saying"Turn that off it is so way bright mama!"
(Lucas had just gotten out of bed. When he wakes in the morning he is asleep one minute and wide awake the next... no groggy time for him.)
I turned the light off shielded his eyes and asked if he needed to pee. "Sure do mom, I will go." and off he went. 30 seconds flat he was back at my right elbow. With his big blue eye looking at me he said "Let's go do my home work."
(Lucas does the best in the morning and I have found I have one on one time with him, little distraction and a longer focus time from him, so that is when we tend to do his homework.)
I look over to him and tell him that he doesn't have any homework to do today. Lucas hangs his head, slumps his shoulders, sticks his lip out and in a sad tone says, "No homework for Lukie?" I say that it is just that he doesn't have any today and maybe he will bring some home today. Big grin, "ok I will ask Mrs. Baulcomb!"
miracle of all miracles... does the want for homework mean he really likes school?!?!?!
WOW Lucas likes school! What is it with my kids enjoying homework? Crazy kids!! Happy mom!!
