My mom is amazing... unless you ask my husband :)

Sunday, October 10, 2004

My mom went to China three years ago to help babysit missionary children for three weeks while the parent went to conferences and had time out from their busy lives... now my mom is going to Kyrgystan. Below is a letter kind of explaining it. Please pray for her as she is not young any more, I don't want her to get sick. I love that at my mom's age she still has a passion for life and to help others!

Debbie Hogue and Ruth May are leaving for Kyrgyzstan on October 21. They've both given me names for a "Deb & Ruth Prayer Team."The country is mountainous with many herdsmen and farmers. They will be working with a ministry which is under Campus Crusade for Christ. They have been invited to come in to teach morals and ethics to teachers with the understanding that the Bible is their text book! Here are some prayer requests:.. that God will fill their hearts with a great love for their interpreters and the people in their small groups... Pray that they will "click" with their interpreters, that they will understand each other easily, and that the interpreters will have a good command of the English language... Deb has read that the wind can at times blow the smoke from the factories back into Bishkek and that it can be lung searing. Pray that God will hold back the wind while they are there... Pray for safety in travel and no effect from jet lag... Pray for their team -- that they will bond well and genuinely care for each other... Pray that God will supernaturally place each teacher in the best group for them.Have a great day.Joanie Burgett
