Groceries... an issue with me!

Tuesday, October 19, 2004

I have mental health issues when it comes to grocery shopping! If something is on sale by twice to twenty times the amount that you normally would. Doesn't that make sense?

I bought 20 bottles of ice tea and saved $29.40
I bought 12 bottles of chocolate syrup for milk and saved $17.64
I bought 12 bottles of strawberry syrup for milk and saved $17.64
I bought 10 lunchables and saved $19.30

Even still I have a few issues to work out! But at least I recognize it!

You're hilarious! My dad always did this - we always knew what was on sale when we opened the cupboard and saw 2 cases of ketchup or 50 cans of spaghetti sauce.

Our problem is that we get all that extra stuff, then overconsume it. We don't make it last as long as if we bought one every time we go shopping. Double Whammy....getting fatter and spending more money.

Wish I could be there to crazy shop with you. You know I would justify it! Miss you!

We still have several bricks of cream cheese in our freezer. Anyone remember how long ago Lori bought them? It's been since we were in Hamilton. We must be coming close to a year now since they were purchased.

I don't think I've bought any more than 3 of one item, unless it was in a case (like pop). When I go to the grocery store I have $75 cash to spend and a list to go with the money. I don't usually buy anything that is not on my list. That's just me and how I need to organize.

Wish I could be more like that as I think we would have more fun food in the house. We haven't had chocolate syrup in the house since my very first shopping trip after we got married. :(
