Last night... did not end.

Monday, April 25, 2005

The kids were great at church last night. They played, they listened, they had fun. We got home from church around 8:20pm-ish. I put the kids to bed, no complaints from anyone. Watched some TV (don't tell Sam 'cause it is TV turn off week and she is sure it is for me to).

10pm I decide to go to bed. As I start turning lights off on the main floor I hear a sobbing from a child upstairs. I make a dash for the bedrooms, can't recognize the sob because it is so sad, sore and scared (one I am not familiar with my kids). I find Lucas twisting and turning in bed. No fever, no cough, no runny nose... just a tomato red ear.

Lucas is complaining of a sore ear and pulling on it like he could take it off his head... I Tylenol him, rock him, hug him, and a billion other things. There is no consoling this child. Pernell gets home at 10:20pm... we both try and console, we try the tag team approach, Pernell goes solo... nothing is helping.

10:35pm Pernell takes Lucas to Hospital... 12:37am Pernell and Lucas are home...

Ear infection... where the heck did that come from?????

I didn't send Lucas to school today because of the hour he was up to last night... he is fine today, like nothing happened!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!

Medicines seem to work in mock speed in kids. Maybe the meds he got kicked in asap?

Either way I am glad he is feeling better. That sounds very painful.

The meds don't usually work that fast, but either the pressure relieved some or he burst his drum. When that happened to Daniel, he cried and cried and all of a sudden stopped.... the drum had burst and he felt much better.
